Savitzky) Date: 26 Jan 1999 12:26:38 -0800 Message-Id: It has come to my attention that this information has not been spread as widely as I expected it to be, so I'm just going to do it by e-mail: My wife's mother, Shirley Hentzell, passed away in her sleep last Wednesday. She had been suffering from an advanced case of breast cancer, and had had several strokes the previous Friday. It was not particularly unexpected, though it was (very mercifully) sudden. She had been a technical writer and editor at SRI for many years, and most recently was working on contract for IBM. Some of you may have met her. She also wrote science fiction under the name Shirley Weinland. See: and She requested that no funeral or memorial service be held.
